Note: Early Christian saint and martyr; venerated in Rome as a martyr as early as the 4th century. Traditionally the daughter of Saint Peter, although probably the connection is made primarily due to her name. Any person upon whom the legend is based probably lived in either the 1st century or the 3rd century.
