Collecting with Mr. Getty
Museum director Michael Brand welcomes former Getty Museum director Stephen Garrett and former curators Gillian Wilson and Burton Fredericksen to discuss their experiences working with J. Paul Getty. The panel shares anecdotes and insights about how Mr. Getty formed his collection and his fascination with Greek and Roman antiquities.

Collecting: Old World Traditions, New World Applications
Collecting has a long and distinguished history. After a review of collecting practices from the Renaissance through the 18th century, this course will focus on 19th- and 20th-century connoisseurs and their influence on the development of museums. Course fee $30. Open to 40 participants.
