Note: Founded in Paris, 1947, Magnum Photos is a cooperative for freelance photographers. The original members were Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, William and Rita Vandivert, Maria Eisner, and David "Chim" Seymour. It is owned and run by its member photographers, who retain all copyright to their work. It has four editorial offices in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo, and a network of fifteen sub-agents. It provides photographs to the press, publishers, advertising, television, galleries and museums. |
