Norie, Orlando (British artist, 1832-1901)
|
Note: Member of a family of Scottish painters. Son of Robert Norie (active ca. 1821-1851) and a descendant of James Norie the Elder (1684-1757). He was born in Bruges, and lived with his family in France and Belgium. He was active primarily in Dunkirk, France. He is known for his prolific output of battle paintings and illustrations of international military uniforms. |
