Sutnar, Ladislav (American and Czech designer, 1897-1976)
|
Note: Sutnar was the leader of the Prague based group of artists and designers known as "Cooperative Work" which became the leading proponent of Czech functionalist design. He also designed books, textiles, flatware, porcelain, and glassware. From 1928 to the late 1930s, Sutnar collaborated with photographer Josef Sudek. Sudek photographed the products designed by Sutnar for the magazines published by "Cooperative Work". In 1939, Sutnar emigrated to New York City, where he worked as an advertising, display, and industrial designer. American and Czech designer. |
