Note: Prehistoric site located on a swamp at the joint of two rivers near the Moravian mountains, near a village of the same name. Known for a series of Ice Age remains left by mammoth hunters, among the carved ivory and baked clay objects, including a famous so-called "Venus" figurine named for the site. Burials of three people here date to around 27,640 years ago. |
