Note: A small ancient Roman province in the western Alps; it adjoined the province of Alpes Maritimae. Its capital was at Segusio; the province extended west to Eburodunum (Embrun). King Cottius and his son first ruled it early in the 1st century CE, but a procurator was later appointed.
