Note: The state located in the southern Italian peninsula founded by Roger II in 1130 and ending in 1816. At its height, it included the island of Sicily, the Mezzogiorno region, and the Maltese archipelago. It was a successor countdom of Sicily, which had been founded in 1071 during the Norman conquest of southern Italy. |
