Note: Located near London's Heathrow airport. In 1930 the Fairey Aviation Company established the Great West Aerodrome which became an RAF station in 1944; this in turn became today's international civil airport in 1946. Harmondsworth is widely known as a publishing center. The church here is built on the site of an earlier one and is partly 12th-century. There is also an unusual 190-foot tithe barn here; it was built in 1426, probably by Winchester College.
