Note: The commune of Pojan, located south of the ancient city of Apollonia, has around 10,000 inhabitants by an estimate made in the late 1990s. In Byzantine times it was the site of a monastery. In this area people live mainly from small-scale cattle breeding and other agricultural pursuits, such as fruit orchard cultivation and honeybee keeping.
