Note: Suburb of Duisburg situated on the Rhine river in the Ruhr, Dusseldorf district, in the northwestern German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its port is on the left bank of the Rhine opposite the city center. Homberg was incorporated into the city of Duisburg in 1975. Industries in the area include the manufacture of machinery and dyes, iron founding, and the production of refractory goods. It is also a coal harbor. |
