Note: Böhmer Wald is the forested southwestern highlands of the Bohemian Massif on the German-Czech Republic frontier, reaching from the upper valley of the Ohre River in the northwest to a section of the Danube River Valley in Austria in the southeast. The area has little population. It has some mineral deposits and stone quarries, and is known for its glassmaking. About 33% of the land is forested and lumber milling is a major economic activity. |
