Note: First known centralized state in Peru's pre-history, dominating much of the highlands and coast during its time. Maintained the archipelago system of controlling colonies or tributaries in different ecological environments; also introduced conscription of labor from these communities. Reached the height of its powers around 900, and fell to rivals around 1100.
