Note: Refers to threads of glass that are applied as a decoration, generally on the body, foot, or handle of a vessel. The threads may be laid down in straight rows or in a pattern or chain. Trailings were first seen in ancient Roman glass, and were also popular in medieval and later glass. They are distinct from "threadings," which are independent designs that are often partially free-standing.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 指線形的玻璃裝飾，一般在器皿的瓶身、瓶腳或握把上，可成直線排列，或構成圖案或鏈狀。線形裝飾首見於古羅馬玻璃工藝，中世紀以後仍廣受歡迎。該裝飾屬於獨立式設計，有別於螺紋設計，因此通常有一部分不需依靠支撐。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar glasdraden die als decoratie zijn aangebracht, meestal op de romp, de voet of het handvat van een vat. De draden kunnen in rechte rijen, in een bepaald patroon of in een kettingvorm zijn aangebracht. Trailings verschenen voor het eerst op oud Romeins glas, en waren ook populair bij glas uit de Middeleeuwen en later. Er is een kenmerkend verschil met draadwerk, waar het zelfstandige, vaak deels vrijstaande ontwerpen betreft. |
