Note: Process of decorating ceramics by transferring the design from prints on another material, often using heat; invented in England in the 1750s. Designs are first engraved and then printed on paper or another material using a special ceramic ink. The paper is then pressed against the surface of the ceramic, enamel, or glass and the design is thus transferred, often with the application of heat. The process is also used for enamels and glass.

| Dutch ..... Proces van het versieren van keramiek met gegraveerde ontwerpen die eerst zijn afgedrukt op papier of ander materiaal met behulp van een speciale keramische inkt en vaak doormiddel van verhitting. Het proces werd rond 1750 in Engeland uitgevonden. Het papier wordt tegen het oppervlak van de keramiek, email of glas gedrukt en het ontwerp wordt zo overgedragen. De werkwijze wordt ook gebruikt voor email en glas. |
