Dutch ..... Staten die door een vrij associatieverdrag of een andere overeenkomst geallieerd zijn met een andere, doorgaans grotere mogendheid. Volgens zo'n verdrag behouden de staten hun internationale soevereiniteit en de heerschappij over hun grondgebied, maar ontvangen zij bepaalde voordelen, zoals militaire bescherming of economische samenwerking. Zo zijn de Marshalleilanden geassocieerd met de Verenigde Staten. |
