Note: Beverage of Asian origin derived from unfermented leaves, cut and steamed, of the plant Camellia sinensis; used for many medicinal applications as well as for refreshment. ‘Black tea’ is derived from the same plant. Dutch ..... Drank van Aziatische origine die wordt gemaakt van de gesneden en gestoomde, ongefermenteerde bladeren van de plant Camellia sinensis; de drank wordt voor de smaak gedronken, maar heeft ook medicinale toepassingen. Van dezelfde plant wordt ook zwarte thee gemaakt. Groene thee wordt geproduceerd door de bladeren te laten oxideren. Catechinen uit groene thee worden in de conserveringswetenschap wel gebruikt als milieuvriendelijke formaldehyde-eters. |
