Note: Prehistoric artifacts of uncertain function. Formed from short lengths of reindeer antler with a pierced end, and often decorated. 'Bâtons de commandement' was the term initially used for this class of artifacts, but made an assumption of function; bâtons percés, the more recent term, is descriptive of form rather than any presumed function. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 功用不確定之史前工藝品,以短小馴鹿角製成,一端鑽有孔洞且多半具有裝飾。舊時稱此工藝品為「指揮杖」乃對其功能有特定假設;近來改以「穿孔杖」稱之則是描述外觀而不對其功能做任何推測。 |
Dutch ..... Prehistorische artefacten, waarvan de functie onduidelijk is, gemaakt van korte geweitakken van rendieren met aan één uiteinde een gat uitgeboord en vaak versierd. Op basis van een aanname over de functie gebruikte men voor dit soort artefacten eerst de term ���bâton de commandement'. De term ���bâton percé' beschrijft de vorm in plaats van de inhoud en dit is de term die tegenwoordig wordt gebruikt. |
