Vanuit deze bank werden levensmiddelen en zaken voor de eerste levensbehoeften uitgedeeld aan armen, ouden van dagen, wezen en gebrekkigen die hiervoor in aanmerking kwamen, veelal op vertoon van een aan hen geschonken armenpenning.
