| Dutch ..... Algemene term voor een zwaar soort papier van ten minste 0,012 inch (0,03 cm) dik. Sommige soorten karton worden gemaakt van dikke propjes papierpulp die worden vermalen of geperst tot een harde, stijve plaat; andere worden gemaakt door verschillende gelamineerde vellen papier aan elkaar te bevestigen.
