Dutch ..... Lichte helmen van het merg van een plant of van kurk bedekt met stof, met een ronde hoedenbol en een vaste rand die naar beneden afloopt; gedragen in tropische gebieden ter bescherming tegen de zon. Werden voor het eerst gedragen door het Britse leger, halverwege de 19e eeuw in India, en werden gemaakt met het merg van de solaplant. |
German ..... Leichtgewichtiger Helm aus Mark oder Kork, überzogen mit Stoff, mit einem runden Kopfteil und einem festen Rand, der nach unten geneigt ist; in tropischen Regionen als Schutz gegen die Sonne getragen. Zuerst von der britischen Armee in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts in Indien getragen und hergestellt mit dem Mark der Solumpflanze. |
