Record Type: hierarchy name
stack firing (firing (technique), temperature-related techniques, ... Processes and Techniques (hierarchy name))

Note: Refers to a firing method in which ceramics with similar forms are stacked inside a kiln. Refractory clay, sand, or clay stilts are placed between them to facilitate separation after firing. This method conserves kiln space and reduces firing costs, but often leaves traces of debris or ash on vessel surfaces, diminishing their appearance. It was mainly employed in Korea for the production of lower-quality wares.
