Note: Silent, immobile arrangements of one or more costumed performers, usually staged with appropriate scenery and props, to reproduce a scene from art, drama, literature, history, or the imagination. Enacted in ceremonial, theatrical, festive, or recreational contexts, in public or private, they may be presented on floats, on theatrical stages, such as at the end of an act of a play, or in any suitable private or public space. For the contemporary sculptural works composed of figures and objects arranged into a picturelike scene, use "tableaux (sculpture)." |

Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor de zwijgende, roerloze opstelling van één of meer gekostumeerde spelers, meestal met passend decor en requisieten die een scène uit de kunst, literatuur, geschiedenis of verbeelding weergeeft. Ze worden opgevoerd in ceremonieel, ttoneel-, feestelijk of recreatief verband, in het openbaar of privé en de uitvoering kan plaatsvinden op wagens, toneel, zoals aan het einde van een bedrijf van een stuk, of in andere geschikte openbare of privé ruimten. Gebruik 'tableaus' voor twintigste-eeuwse beeldhouwwerken samengesteld uit figuren en objecten die zijn gerangschikt tot een tafereel. |
Spanish ..... Disposición muda e inmóvil de uno o más actores disfrazados, generalmente escenificada con el decorado y los accesorios apropiados, para reproducir una escena del arte, el drama, la literatura, la historia o de la imaginación. Representada en contextos ceremoniales, teatrales, festivos o recreativos, en público o privado, puede ser presentados sobre carrozas, escenarios teatrales, como en el final de un acto de una pieza teatral o en cualquier espacio privado o público conveniente. Para las obras escultóricas del siglo XX compuestas de figuras y objetos dispuestos como en una escena pictórica, empléese el término tableaux (escultura). |
