Note: Boards used for recreational snow sports, first developed in the 1960s. These are long narrow boards, most often with upturned ends, and fitted with transverse bindings for boots, on which the rider coasts down slopes of snow in a modified form of snow skiing, but with performance elements that evolved from skateboarding and surfing.

| Dutch ..... Planken die gebruikt worden in een recreatieve wintersport en die in de jaren '60 ontwikkeld werden. Deze planken zijn lang en smal, en hebben meestal omhoog gekromde uiteinden en dwars aangebrachte bindsels voor de schoenen van de sporter, die op de plank langs besneeuwde hellingen naar beneden glijdt. Deze sport is een variant op het skiën, maar dan met actie-elementen die uit het skateboarden en surfen voortkomen. |
