Note: Works of art in any medium, including performance art. A work of art may exist as a part of a larger object, e.g., a mural painting or a painting on a piece of furniture. When referring to the study or practice of the fine arts or the fine and decorative arts together, use "art." In reference to pieces of fine or decorative arts as collectables rather than museum objects, in English use either "art objects" or the French term "objets d'art," which emphasizes this meaning.
