Note: Flat, parallel embroidery stitches worked on a ground fabric to fill a motif, and that imitates the shiny appearance of satin. It is the simplest of all embroidery stitches, but requires skill in uniformity and keeping the stitches flat and even to imitate the appearance of satin.
