Zwaar versierde boekbanden, gewoonlijk met een omslag van rood marokijnleer, voorzien van fijn afgewerkte gouden randen, vlakken met doorsnijdende of gestippelde lijnen en exotische motieven met dieren, planten en menselijke en mythische figuren in rococostijl. Ook motieven die zijn geïnspireerd door Chinees en uit China geëxporteerd porselein, zoals draken, bloemen en vogels, komen veel voor. |
