Note: Works, such as keepsakes, made from hair; usually from human hair but occasionally also from the hair of a beloved pet. The hair is often braided and arranged in decorative patterns, entwined over wire forms, etc. While hair is the primary medium of such works, seed pearls, glass beads, ribbons, dried flowers, and other materials may be included. Hairworks are often memorials, typically worn or displayed as a mourning ornament in memory of the donor of the hair. However, they may also be made from the hair of living individuals, such as the members of a family or of a church congregation. Hairwork was popular during the Victorian era.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 以毛髮製作的紀念品，通常使用人的頭髮，但偶爾也會用寵物的毛髮。一般製作時會先將毛髮結成辮後再纏繞於金屬線等材料上。雖然這類作品以毛髮為主，但也可使用小珍珠、玻璃珠、緞帶、乾燥花等其他材料。此工藝品通常為紀念之用，大多作為悼念飾品穿戴或展示，以表達對頭髮主人的懷念。不過有時也會使用在世者，如家族成員或教會會眾等人的頭髮來製作。此工藝品普遍見於維多利亞時期。 |
| Dutch ..... Souvenirs gemaakt van haar, gewoonlijk van mensen, maar soms ook van een geliefd huisdier. Het haar wordt vaak gevlochten in decoratieve patronen, om objecten van ijzerdraad gedraaid, enzovoort. Haar is het belangrijkste materiaal van dit soort objecten, maar men gebruikt soms ook zaadparels, glazen kralen, linten, gedroogde bloemen en andere materialen. Haarwerken zijn vaak aandenkens. Gewoonlijk draagt men ze of stalt men ze uit ter herinnering van degene van wie het haar was. Maar men maakt ze ook van het haar van levende personen, zoals de leden van een gezin of een kerkgemeenschap. Haarwerk was vooral populair in het victoriaanse tijdperk. |

Das Haar ist oft geflochten und zu dekorativen Mustern angeordnet, über Drahtformen geschlungen usw. Obwohl Haar das Hauptmedium einer solchen Arbeit ist, können Saat- und Glasperlen, Bänder, Trockenblumen und andere Materialien einbezogen sein. Haararbeiten sind oft Objekte, die als Trauerschmuck zur Erinnerung an den Haarbesitzer getragen oder ausgestellt werden. Sie können jedoch auch aus dem Haar von lebenden Personen gemacht sein, zum Beispiel Mitgliedern einer Familie oder einer Kirchengemeinde. Haararbeiten waren in viktorianischer Zeit populär. |
