Note: An ancient fabric creation technique that predates knitting and crochet; it involves braiding parallel threads with fixed threads on a frame. The term refers as well to the net-like fabric so produced. Sprang headgear, belts, and other artifacts dating from Bronze age onward have been found at archaeological sites in Scandinavia, Europe and Egypt.

Dutch ..... Een techniek uit de oudheid voor de productie van stof, van voor de ontwikkeling van breien en haken. In deze techniek worden parallelle draden vervlochten met andere, op een frame vastgebonden draden. De term verwijst ook naar de netachtige stof die met deze techniek geproduceerd wordt. Hoofddeksels, riemen en andere voorwerpen van sprang uit de bronstijd en later zijn gevonden op archeologische vindplaatsen in Scandinavië, Europa en Egypte.
