Note: Art and crafts that exist outside the received canons of taste established by academic art, that are produced in culturally cohesive communities or contexts, and that are guided by local traditional rules or procedures. Included are paintings, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, and other art forms. It is generally distinct from "naive art," which is created by those without formal training, but not necessarily within a cohesive cultural community. It is also distinct from "outsider art," which usually refers specifically to art created or collected according to a philosophy of avoidance of traditional training. |

In sommige culturen is er meer of minder ruimte voor persoonlijke expressie; deze term en dit genre worden gedefiniëerd en gebruikt vanaf de vroege 20e eeuw. Spanish ..... Refiere al arte y artesanias que se producen en comunidades o contextos cultural cohesivos, y dirigidos por reglas o procedimientos tradicionales. Incluye pinturas, cerámica, los textiles, la escultura, y otras formas del arte. Es generalmente distinto del "arte ingenuo," que es creado sin un entrenamiento formal, pero no necesariamente dentro de una comunidad cultural cohesiva.
