Note: A siliceous sandstone, from Saint Lawrence County in New York, containing a small amount of iron oxide, giving it its red or reddish-brown color. Although soft enough to work economically when first quarried, it becomes incredibly hard upon exposure, making it an incredibly durable building stone.

| Dutch ..... Een kiezelachtige zandsteen uit Saint Lawrence County in New York. Het bevat een kleine hoeveelheid ijzeroxide, waardoor het een rode of roodachtig bruine kleur heeft. Hoewel het materiaal na winning zacht genoeg is om op een efficiënte manier te bewerken, wordt het na blootstelling onvoorstelbaar hard. Dit maakt het tot een zeer duurzame bouwsteen. |
| Spanish ..... Arenisca silícea del condado de Saint Lawrence, Nueva York, que contiene una pequeña cantidad de óxido de hierro que le otorga un color rojo o marrón-rojizo. A pesar de ser suficientemente blanda para trabajarla económicamente al extraerla de la cantera, se vuelve increíblemente dura al exponerla a la atmósfera, convirtiéndose en una piedra de construcción extraordinariamente durable.
