Note: Durable wood of the species Brosimum guianense, that is deep mahogany-red in color, heavy, with a fine uniform texture. Although the grain is straight, the wood has a distinct yellow, dark red, and brown mottled pattern that resembles snakeskin. It was particularly popular for veneers in the late 18th century. It is still used for veneers, walking sticks, modeling tools, and umbrella handles.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 取自圭亞那飽食桑木（Brosimum guianense）的耐用木材，顏色為類似桃花心木的深紅，重實而且具有精細均勻的質地，其紋理雖然平直，但木材有明顯的黃色、深紅色與棕色的蛇皮狀斑駁圖紋。西元十八世紀後期特別流行利用此木材製作表面飾板，現今仍用於製作飾板、拐杖、模具以及傘柄。 |
| Dutch ..... Hout van de boom behorende tot het genus Piratinera, diep mahonierood van kleur met onregelmatige donkere tekeningen die lijken op die van bepaalde slangen. Het is een van de zwaarste houtsoorten met een commerciële toepassing. Het was ooit in trek voor het vervaardigen van wandelstokken, parapluhandvatten en fineer. |
