MPEG is an acronym for Motion Pictures Experts Group, a committee of the International Standards Organization. MPEG is een afkorting van Motion Pictures Experts Group, een commissie van de International Standards Organization. MPEG-2 bevat diverse compressieverhoudingen die de beeldkwaliteit verlagen, zodat er minder bandbreedte en opslagruimte voor nodig is.
