Note: Positive albumen prints upon glass widely used to create lantern slides and sometimes larger glass transparencies hung in windows for decoration; produced by a patented process called Hyalotype, developed and promoted by the Lingenheim brothers of Philadelphia from 1850. Distinguished from "crystalotypes" on paper produced by a similar process patented by J. A. Whipple of Boston.

Positiver Albuminabzug auf Glas, weit verbreitet, um Diapositive und manchmal größere transparente Glasdekorationen herzustellen; produziert in einem patentierten Verfahren, das Hyalotypie heisst, entwickelt und gefördert von den Gebrüder Lingenheim in Philadelphia ab 1850. Unterscheidet sich von der “Kristallotypie” auf Papier, die in einem ähnlichen Verfahren, das von J. A. Whipple in Boston patentiert wurde, hergestellt wird. |
