Pan-American (The Americas, <styles, periods, and cultures by region>, Styles and Periods (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Pan-American broadly refers to the culture of North, Central, and South America. Rooted in the history of U.S.-Latin American relations, it also specifically refers to expressions developed during the first half of the 20th century. The term refers either to the art, architecture and political- economic agreements associated with a U.S. leadership and its hegemonic interests in Latin America and to the Latin American art expressions and movements of anti-imperialism that rejected unilateral agreements with the U.S. during this period. |
