Het doel van de mensenhandelaar is seksuele uitbuiting, arbeidsuitbuiting of een andere vorm van uitbuiting. Mensenhandel is een moderne vorm van slavernij. Er is sprake van mensenhandel wanneer een persoon wordt misleid, in de val gelokt of wordt gedwongen om zich te laten uitbuiten voor andermans persoonlijk gewin of winstbejag. Mensenhandel is een misdrijf en kan verschillende vormen aannemen, gaande van seksuele uitbuiting, dwangarbeid, huisarbeid, slavernij of soortgelijke praktijken, gender-gerelateerd geweld, gedwongen bedelarij of criminaliteit. |
