Note: Aromatic, yellow gum resin obtained from various African, Arabian, and Indian trees of the Commiphora genus. Myrrh contains approximately 25% resin (mostly triterpenoids), 60% gum, and 15% volatile oils. Translucent yellow resins have been used for incense and perfumes since ancient times. Myrrh has also been used for its healing properties in traditional medicines.

Dutch ..... Aromatische, gele gomhars die wordt gewonnen uit diverse Afrikaanse, Arabische en Indiase bomen van het geslacht Commiphora. Mirre bevat ongeveer 25% hars (grotendeels triterpenoïden), 60% gom en 15% etherische oliën. Doorschijnende gele harsen worden al sinds oude tijden voor wierook en parfum gebruikt. Mirre wordt ook in traditionele geneesmiddelen gebruikt om zijn geneeskrachtige eigenschappen.
