Note: Aromatic, yellow gum resin obtained from various African, Arabian, and Indian trees of the Commiphora genus. Myrrh contains approximately 25% resin (mostly triterpenoids), 60% gum, and 15% volatile oils. Translucent yellow resins have been used for incense and perfumes since ancient times. Myrrh has also been used for its healing properties in traditional medicines. |

Dutch ..... Aromatische, gele gomhars die wordt gewonnen uit diverse Afrikaanse, Arabische en Indiase bomen van het geslacht Commiphora. Mirre bevat ongeveer 25% hars (grotendeels triterpenoïden), 60% gom en 15% etherische oliën. Doorschijnende gele harsen worden al sinds oude tijden voor wierook en parfum gebruikt. Mirre wordt ook in traditionele geneesmiddelen gebruikt om zijn geneeskrachtige eigenschappen. |
