Note: A synthetically prepared azure blue pigment made from of copper hydroxide and copper carbonate, used as a substitute for natural azurite; it has particles that are more rounded and regular in size that natural azurite. Bremen blue was probably first made in the 18th century and was used in the 19th century for both distemper and oil based interior house paints. |

Dutch ..... Een synthetisch geproduceerd azuurblauw pigment dat wordt gemaakt van koperhydroxide en kopercarbonaat, als vervanger van natuurlijk azuriet. Het heeft deeltjes die ronder en regelmatiger van grootte zijn dan natuurlijk azuriet. Bremer blauw werd waarschijnlijk voor het eerst geproduceerd in de 18e eeuw en werd in de 19e eeuw gebruikt voor zowel het schilderen met tempera als voor op olie gebaseerde verf voor het interieur van huizen. |
