Note: Describes the works of the groups of German and Austrian artists who rebeled against the Salon system and exhibited independently at the end of the 19th century. The exhibition of art and concerns about the art market formed the basis of the movement. The artists involved were not commited to a particular style but works tend to be lyrical, focus on nature, and avoid modern themes.

| Dutch ..... Beschrijft het werk van een groep Duitse en Oostenrijkse kunstenaars die zich verzetten tegen het Salonsysteem. Zij organiseerden aan het eind van de 19de eeuw tentoonstellingen onafhankelijk van de Salon. De wens kunst te exposeren en zorgen over de kunstmarkt vormden de basis van de beweging. De betrokken kunstenaars hadden niet één gemeenschappelijke stijl , maar hun werk neigt naar het lyrische, richt zich op de natuur en vermijdt moderne thema’s. |
| Spanish ..... Describe las obras de los grupos de artistas alemanes y austriacos que se rebelaron contra el sistema de galerías y exhibieron independientemente a fines del siglo XIX. La exhibición de arte y la preocupación por el mercado del arte constituyeron la base del movimiento. Los artistas involucrados no estaban consignados a un estilo particular pero los trabajos tienden a ser líricos, centrados en la naturaleza evitando temas modernos. |
