Note: Accumulation of the remains of farm buildings, sod walls, manure and other wastes that are a distinct feature of Norse North-Atlantic archeology. They are found primarily in Norway north of the Arctic Circle, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroes, and possibly in the Northern Isles of Scotland. Some of these mounds are now deserted, while others are on inhabited properties.
