Note: Bast fiber obtained from the bark species Edgeworthia papyrifera, native to China and cultivated in Japan. Mitsumata has been used for paper since about 1600 CE. The soft, absorbent fibers produce a paper that is weaker and less absorbent that kozo. Mitsumata paper also tends to shrink and expand with moisture content.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 取自原生於中國、栽種於日本的結香樹皮的韌皮纖維，約從公元1600年起即用來造紙。這種纖維柔軟、具吸水性，製出的紙張比楮皮（kozo）製成的還脆弱且較不吸水，也會受到溼氣多寡的影響而易於皺縮或膨脹。 |
