Note: Vessels, having a relatively stout shape, sometimes called "jars" or "bottles"; distinguished by having a double-branch/single-spout form that resembles a riding saddle stirrup. The form was known in Precolumbian art for 2,500 years. It has been suggested that the peculiar spout was used to prevent evaporation of the liquids contained in the vessel.

| Dutch ..... Vaten met een relatief bolle vorm, soms 'potten' of 'flessen' genoemd; ze onderscheiden zich door de op een stijgbeugel lijkende schenkvorm met twee vertakkingen en één tuit. De vorm werd 2500 jaar lang in de precolumbiaanse kunst gebruikt. Sommigen denken dat de eigenaardige tuit werd gebruikt om verdamping van de vloeistoffen in het vat te voorkomen. |
