Note: Old Egyptian protective amulets, usually hung at the back of the neck as a counterpoise part of a necklace with a corresponding front plate, or "aegis." It was frequently made of glazed ware and was often found buried with the dead, and it was a symbol of divine protection.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Oud-Egyptische rituele percussie-instrumenten die gebruikt werden door priester om rituelen uit te voeren of goden op te roepen. De menat was een halsketting met vooraan een plaatje waaraan kralen hingen en op de rug een tegengewicht; het werd zoals een rammelaar gebruikt.
