Note: Device to iron hats, for example men's silk hats, during creation and as part of maintenance in the owner's wardrobe. One use of the device was to lay down the nap on the fabric of the hat. The hat iron may be used for other tasks in sewing, beyond hat creation.

| Dutch ..... Apparaat om hoeden te strijken, bijvoorbeeld zijden herenhoeden, tijdens de productie en als onderdeel van het onderhoud in de garderobe van de eigenaar. Een van de manieren om het apparaat te gebruiken was om de vleug op de stof van de hoed neer te leggen. Het apparaat kan ook worden gebruikt voor andere taken bij het naaien, buiten het maken van hoeden. |
