Note: Drafting tools for drawing straight parallel lines, generally consisting of ungraduated strips of wood, metal, or plastic guided along drafting boards and held parallel by wires or strings passing through the ends of the rules; may or may not slide on rollers. For a set of two attached and pivoting rulers used often as navigational aids to transfer parallel lines, prefer "parallel rulers."

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 用來畫平行直線的製圖工具，沿著製圖板移動，通常為無刻度的木條、金屬條或塑膠條，利用金屬線或細線穿過兩把尺的兩端以保持尺的平行，有時下方裝有轉輪。另外由轉軸連結，通常於航海時用來進行平行線轉換的工具，則稱「平行規」。 |
| Dutch ..... Tekengerei waarmee rechte, evenwijdige lijnen kunnen worden getekend. Bestaan meestal uit repen hout, metaal of plastic zonder schaalverdeling, die op tekenborden worden gebruikt en evenwijdig worden gehouden door draden of snoeren die door het einde van de linialen lopen. Kunnen wel of niet op wieltjes rollen. Gebruik 'parallellinialen' voor een paar linialen die aan elkaar vastzitten door een draaipen en worden vaak gebruikt als navigatiehulpstukken om evenwijdige lijnen te verplaatsen. |

Zeichenwerkzeug, mit dem parallele Geraden gezeichnet werden, besteht üblicherweise aus Leisten aus Holz, Metall oder Plastik, die entlang von Zeichenbrettern geführt und infolge ihrer Verbindung durch Drähte oder Schnüre an ihren Enden parallel gehalten werden; kann auch auf Rollen gleiten. Für ein Paar befestigter und drehbarer Lineale, die häufig als Navigationshilfe zum Übertragen paralleler Linien verwendet werden, siehe "Parallel-Lineal (Navigationswerkzeug)". |
