Note: Largest New World cat, once found from the U.S.-Mexican border southward to Patagonia, Argentina, but with habitat now greatly reduced. Coloration is orange to tan, with black spots arranged in rosettes with a black spot in the center. The base color of the jaguar varies greatly from white to black; although brown and black jaguars appear to be solid-colored, spots are always faintly visible.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 新大陸上體型最大的貓科動物，過去出沒於美國與墨西哥邊境，南至阿根廷的巴塔哥尼亞，但是現在棲地大幅減少。毛色介於橘色至黃褐色之間，黑色斑點排列成花形，中央則有黑點。美洲豹的基本色從白色至黑色皆有，雖然棕色與黑色的美洲豹看起來為單色，但仍隱約可見黑色斑點。 |
| Dutch ..... Grootste katachtige in de Nieuwe Wereld. Het dier komt voor in het gebied dat zich uitstrekt van de Amerikaans-Mexicaanse grens tot Patagonië in Argentinië. Het verspreidingsgebied is echter sterk gekrompen. De vacht is oranje tot geelbruin met zwarte vlekken die in rozetten zijn gearrangeerd met een zwarte vlek in het midden. De basiskleur van de jaguar varieert enorm, van wit tot zwart. Bruine en zwarte jaguars lijken een homogene kleur te hebben, maar ook zij hebben vlekken die vaag zichtbaar zijn. |

| Spanish ..... El gato más grande de las Americas, que una vez se encontró desde el sur de los Montañas Rocosas en América del Norte hacia el sur hasta la Patagonia en Sudamérica, pero ahora con un hábitat muy reducido. La coloración es de naranja a bronceado, con manchas negras dispuestas en rosetas con una mancha negra en el centro. El color base del jaguar varía mucho de blanco a negro; aunque los jaguares marrones y negros parecen ser de color sólido, las manchas siempre son ligeramente visibles. |
