Note: A luminous paint which reflects absorbed ultraviolet energy as visible light. Fluorescent paints appear to glow in daylight because they emit more than one hundred percent of visible incident radiation. They contain metal salts whose strongly fluorescing organic molecules absorb energy from light and give it back in the form of photons.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Lichtgevende verf die geabsorbeerde ultraviolette energie reflecteert als zichtbaar licht. Fluorescerende verf lijkt te gloeien in het daglicht, omdat de verf meer dan honderd procent van de zichtbare invallende straling uitzendt. De verf bevat metaalzouten met sterk fluorescerende organische moleculen die energie uit licht absorberen en teruggeven in de vorm van fotonen.
