Note: Refers to the doctrines of the Alexandrian priest Arius (ca. 250-ca. 336), which denied that Jesus was of the same substance as God and stated instead that he was only the highest of created beings. As such, the Son was not co-equal or co-eternal with the Father. According to the Arians, Jesus was created- not begotten- by God and he achieved his divinity through his perfect obedience to God. Arius' doctrine was condemned as heretical at a synod in Alexandria in 321 and definitively at the Council of Nicaea in 325. Arianism maintained a foothold in many Germanic nations. The Arian controversy was revived at different times and was eventually superseded by Unitarianism.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 尊崇亞歷山大教會長老亞流(Arius, 西元250-336年)的教義，認為耶穌不等於上帝，耶穌只是上帝最高等級的造物。因此，兒子地位比父親低，也不一樣永恆。根據亞流派教義，耶穌並非由上帝所生，而是上帝所創造出來的，得以成神，是因為祂完全服從上帝。西元321年時，亞流派教義被亞歷山大(Alexandria)宗教大會譴責為異端，西元325年的尼西(Nicaea)大公會議也同聲譴責。亞流派在許多日耳曼國家仍有一席之地。亞流派的爭議持續在不同時期發生，最後被統一基督教(Unitarianism)取代。 |

Als zodanig was de Zoon niet gelijk aan en niet net zo eeuwig bestaand als de Vader. Volgens de arianisten was Jezus geschapen - niet verwekt - door God en bereikte hij zijn goddelijkheid door zijn volmaakte gehoorzaamheid aan God. De doctrine van Arius werd in 321 als ketterij veroordeeld op een synode in Alexandrië en definitief verboden tijdens het Concilie van Nicea in 325. Het arianisme heeft in veel Germaanse landen voet aan de grond gehouden. De controverse rond het arianisme is in verschillende tijden weer opgeleefd en werd uiteindelijk verdrongen door het unitarisme. |

Como a tal, el Hijo no era co-igual o co-eterno con el Padre. Según los arrianos, Jesús se creó - no engendrado - por Dios y alcanzó su divinidad a través de su perfecta obediencia a Dios. La doctrina de Arrio fue condenada como herejía en un sínodo en Alejandría en el año 321 y definitivamente en el Concilio de Nicaea en el año 325.
