Distinguished from "Great South Bay catboats" which have a lower freeboard, narrower beam, and a counter stern. |

Dutch ..... Catboten die in de jaren 70 van de 19e eeuw zijn ontwikkeld in het gebied rond Cape Cod en Martha's Vineyard, in de Amerikaanse staat Massachusetts, en over het algemeen worden gekenmerkt door de verhouding 1:2 tussen de breedte en lengte van de boot, een hoog vrijboord, grote kuip, een vierkante, loodrechte achtersteven en een groot buitenboords roer; werden in eerste instantie gebouwd voor de visserij en later als plezierjacht gebruikt. Ze onderscheiden zich van de 'Great-South-Baycatboten', doordat die een lager vrijboord, een smallere breedte en een overhangendhek hebben. |

Katboot, entwickelt in den 1870er-Jahren in der Gegend um Cape Cod und Martha’s Vineyard im US-Bundesstaat Massachusetts; allgemein gekennzeichnet durch ein Schiffsbreite-Länge-Verhältnis von 1:2, ein hohes Freibord, großes Cockpit, einen lotrechten, eckigen Achtersteven und ein großes Steuerruder außenbords; zuerst für die Fischerei gebaut, später als Vergnügungsboot genutzt. Zu unterscheiden vom "Great-South-Bay-Katboot", welches ein niedrigeres Freibord, eine schmalere Breite sowie einen achterlichen Decksüberhang hat. |

Laúd desarrollada en la década de 1870 en torno a Cape Cod y Martha's Vineyard, Massachussets, y caracterizada generalmente por un travesaño de 1:2 de longitud, costado o borde elevado cabina grande, popa perpendicular cuadrada, y gran timón externo. En primer lugar se construyó para la pesca y posteriormente se utilizó como embarcación de placer. Se distingue de laúd Great South Bay, ya que éstas tiene un borde o costado más bajo, una viga más estrecha y una bovedilla de popa. |
