Note: Refers to the Japanese period and style of art that developed during the rise of the Asikaga shogunate (1338-1573). Although political unrest resulted from the Onin War (1467-1477), the period saw the development of the tea ceremony, flower arranging, the rise of Chinese influenced monochrome painting, and intricate laquer carvings. In architecture, the style is characterized by simple and austere structures, and the use of large landscape gardens designed after famous paintings.

Additional Notes:
Chinese (traditional) ..... 指西元1338年至1573年,足利幕府崛起的時代與藝術風格。儘管當時因應仁之亂(西元1467年至1477年)而造成政治動盪,不過當時仍發展出茶道與插花,也出現了深受中國影響的單色繪畫與精緻的亮漆雕刻。建築風格特色則為簡單樸素的結構,以及依據名畫設計的大型景觀花園。 
Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de Japanse periode en stijl in de kunst die tot ontwikkeling kwam tijdens de opkomst van het Asikaga-shogunaat (1338-1573). Ondanks politieke onrust als gevolg van de Onin-oorlog (1467-1477) werd tijdens de periode de theeceremonie, het bloemschikken, het door China beïnvloedde zwart-wittekenen en de verfijnde lakgravures. In de architectuur kenmerkt de stijl zich door eenvoudige en sobere constructies en het gebruik van grote landschapstuinen waarvan het ontwerp op beroemde schilderijen was gebaseerd. 
Spanish ..... Se refiere al período y al estilo japoneses del arte que se convirtió durante la subida del shogun de Asikaga (1338-1573). Aunque el malestar político es evidente después de la guerra de Onin (1467-1477), el período consideró el desarrollo de la ceremonia del té, la flor que se arregla, la pintura monocromática de influencia china, y de las tallas intrincadas del laqueado. En arquitectura, el estilo es caracterizado por las estructuras simples y austeras, y el uso de los jardines de paisajes diseñados.
